Style: Ballad
Notes: Another biblically inspired ditty. You didn’t know the Bible was so racy, did you?
You cover me with kisses.
Your love is better than fine wine.
There is a scent about you
And I can’t keep from loving you.
Take me with you
And we will run away.
We will be happy together,
Drink deep and lose ourselves in love.
No wonder that I love you.
Loveliest of women,
You know the place to look for me.
You, my love, excite men
Like a stallion to a mare.
Hair drapes across your cheeks
And falls along your neck.
And I will make for you
A chain of gold and silver
With jewels and ornaments.
We lie upon the couch.
Your perfume fills the air.
I lie across your breast.
Love like the vineyard blooming.
How beautiful you are.
Your eyes shine with desire.
Green grass will be our bed
And cypress trees the ceiling
You are a wild flower,
Just a lillye in the vale,
An apple tree in summer,
I love to sit in its shade.
Its fruit is sweet to taste
Here in your banquet hall.
Raise the banner of love
Over me, restore my strength.
I am weak from passion.
My left hand under your head,
With my right a soft caress.
Promise me you will not interrupt
Our love for something less.
You hear your lovers voice,
He runs like a gazelle.
There he stands beside the wall.
He looks in through the window
And glances through the lattice.
Come with me then, my love.
The winter rains are over.
The countryside in bloom,
This is the time for singing,
The air is fragrant now,
Come with me then my darling.
You’re like a dove that hides.
Let me see your lovely face.
Your love is mine and I am yours
Until the morning breezes blow
And the darkness disappears.
Return my darling if you go.
Asleep on my bed
Night after night,
I dream of one to love
But I could not find
Wandering through the city.
Then my eyes fell on you
And I would not let you go.
How beautiful you are
With eyes that shine
And hair that dances so.
Your lips a crimson glow
Are lovely when you speak.
Cheeks that glow behind your smile.
Neck so tall and slender.
Breasts like twin deer feeding.
Come with me from the mountain.
The look is in your eyes.
Taste honey on your lips.
Your tongue is milk for me.
You are a secret garden,
The spring wherein nature flourish.
Incense of fragrant kind.
Streams gushing down from mountains.
I enter in my garden,
My sweetheart and my bride.
Gathering up my spices,
I eat my honey,
Drink my wine.
Eat, lovers eat,
And drink until you’re drunk with love.
